Carrswood Yachts Limited are a bespoke yacht brokerage which specialises in the sale and purchase of luxury yachts worldwide. We are based in the picturesque village of Hamble, Hampshire (UK) where we have excellent links to London and the airports. Most of our business is conducted in the Mediterranean but we have been known to travel regularly to the US and Caribbean due to their popular cruising locations.
Carrswood Yachts was founded by Alastair Shove; a yacht broker of 25 years, who has worked within all aspects of the yacht sales industry. His detailed knowledge of yachts and thorough understanding of the ever changing marketplace has resulted in Alastair concluding many notable sales and acquisitions for his clients.
Buying a yacht is a substantial financial commitment and at times an emotive process. It is crucial a trusted relationship is developed and that our clients feel they are receiving accurate and the most current advice from their broker. Over the years we have built excellent client relations and we are proud to have assisted many buy and sell numerous vessels.
Carrswood - that’s a distinctive name?
Alastair comments: “Carrswood is the name of the house I grew up in! Carrswood is located in the beautiful coastal town of Salcombe, South Devon, England. Our years growing up in Salcombe were undoubtedly very memorable days. We were fortunate to live close to the sea and stunning beaches; so much of our time was spent sailing and generally being around boats every Summer. I instructed sailing, raced competitively and got to try my hand at most water sports! I guess its hardly surprising our times on the water led to a career in yacht sales.
After university I travelled to Europe and the Caribbean where I worked on various superyachts and learnt a great deal about large yacht systems and the superyacht industry as a whole.
Knowing that I wanted to start a career in yacht sales, I was fortunate to join Ancasta International Boat Sales. I had never intended to be with Ancasta for so long, but it was a vibrant company and we were selling a lot of boats in what were boom years. We had targets to meet, were incentivised to sell and we regularly attended sales training courses to ensure we succeeded. I recall very memorable times engaging with clients, making sales and ultimately learning how to trade and transact luxury items. During my time at Ancasta I sold in excess of 400 boats.
In 2015 I re-engaged with the superyacht industry which I had so much empathy for. I joined Cecil Wright & Partners, one of the premium superyacht brokerage houses, with offices in St Jame's, London and Monaco. As a company we focussed on large motor yacht sales, charter and new build management. With the underlining philosophy of 'fewer clients, serviced better', my time working with Cecil Wright was memorable and an invaluable experience.
With 20+ years of yacht sales behind me I decided to start Carrswood Yachts Ltd. We provide a bespoke and highly focused brokerage service, which is tailored to your yacht and specifically to your needs. Operating extensively throughout Europe & International markets, we have developed a strong client database and a respected relationship within our industry network.
